The brand INGUNN BIRKELAND OSLO (IBO) was established by Ingunn Birkeland in 2005, after she graduated with a MA in fashion design from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Birkeland is known for her woven technique and patterns in a distinct color palette. Her work is recognizable by their rich detailed showpieces and red carpet dresses, made with time-consuming handcraft techniques. Since 2011, she has explored various media with her technique, such as shoes, jewelry, purses, ties, art performances, installations and wall pieces.  The National Museum of Art, The National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, and KODE Art Museums have Birkeland’s design in their collections. IBO has been represented on several fashion platforms in Norway, in addition to New York Fashion Week (contribution to Nina Skarra Fashion Show 2012) and Berlin Fashion Week (2014).
