Exploring the role of consumption in the private sphere.
MUNCH, Livid and Stix Omar invite you to take part in this presentation – launching Livid’s newest transparency programme – as part of Oslo Runway.
Livid was founded as a niche jeans company in 2010 in Trondheim by Jens Olav Dankertsen. It has now become one of the most recognized denim brands in Scandinavia. In 2016 Livid made its entire value chain – including its manufacturers and suppliers – transparent to the public. In 2020, the company received the Tribute Award jury prize for its commitment to traceability and repairs. In connection with this year’s 15th anniversary, the initiatives Transparency, Imperfect, Saved and Repairs are being relaunched through a new online platform.
Stix Omar (b. 1985, Oslo) studied at Malmö Art Academy before moving to Berlin, where they started the genre-breaking pop group Easter with producer Max Boss. The duo have released five albums and toured around the world, as well as a soap opera titled Sadness is An Evil Gas Inside of me, screened at art venues and festivals worldwide. For their MUNCH appearance they will present new material created for Livid, in collaboration with experimental musician Axel Barratt-Due.
In their performance work, Omar switches between poetry, song, standup comedy and prayer. They are currently developing a 24-episode advent calendar video series, Advent X. The pilot episode premiers at Tromsø Center for Contemporary Art in September 2025. In the same month they will have a solo exhibition at BLOKK in Bergen.
Axel Barratt-Due (b. 1984, Oslo) studied accordion at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (2009) and sound art at the Universität der Künste in Berlin (2016). They are currently a research fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Barratt-Due is a composer and instrument builder. They transform accordions into electro-mechanical instrument systems, using live coding, DIY electronics and pneumatics.
Since 2015 Oslo Runway has evolved into a cornerstone of Norwegian cultural life. It champions the country's designers, fashion and lifestyle brands, providing a dynamic space where creativity can thrive. This year, from 25–30 August, Oslo Runway celebrates its 10th anniversary with a vibrant program that brings together nearly 60 Norwegian designers, artists and brands.
