ANNOUNCEMENT
The program includes both emerging and established names, presenting at various venues throughout Oslo.
ORW25 kicks off with an Opening Ceremony on the Oslofjord in collaboration with jewelry brand Josephine Studio, before diving into the growing interest in Norwegian knitting heritage with Dale of Norway.
More ORW25 highlights
Oslo Runway continues its cross-disciplinary collaboration with MUNCH. This year’s commissioned work is Pearl Octopuss.y’s show SOLEN. The show will have a pre-premiere open to the public, with the main premiere being invite-only. Oslo Runway also celebrates a triple 10-year anniversary together with Promenaden and Norwegian Fashion Hub with an Anniversary Dinner Party at the Munch Museum.
- It feels incredible to celebrate 10 years with nearly 60 Norwegian designers, artists, and brands on the official program! I’m so proud of what we achieve together, both at home and abroad, and of how the event now contributes to elevating fashion as both a creative industry, and a cultural field, says Oslo Runway CEO Elin O. Carlsen.
From August 25 to 30, Oslo will be buzzing with energy thanks to a program that includes On Schedule shows, presentations, exhibitions, lunches, dinners, parties, and Off Schedule happenings, which will be announced continuously leading up to the event.
New and returning brands on the official program
With the capital as the backdrop, we are proud to announce a lineup featuring both big names and emerging talents. Returning brands this season include Envelope1976, Livid, Pearl Octopuss.y, Woodling, Pia Tjelta, Christian Aks, Kari Traa, F5 Collections, ESP, and Julie Josephine.
- It’s energizing to see some of the most exciting brands in Norway return to the program. We’re also very curious to see what newcomers like Blæst, Sixthgear, Camilla Pihl, Ella & Il, and Hartlino will bring to their Oslo Runway debut, says Carlsen.
The full lineup is listed below.
Norway is writing new fashion history
While the International Library of Fashion Research will take us on a special tour during ORW25, highlighting Norwegian printed fashion over the years, we are also actively writing new Norwegian fashion history.
- The new export initiative for Norwegian fashion and design is long-awaited proof that the government is finally investing heavily in us — an industry that has long sought recognition as a vital creative sector, says Carlsen.
She continues:
- We’re incredibly excited to take Norwegian fashion and lifestyle brands abroad, to cities like London, Copenhagen, and Paris, to showcase Norwegian design at different events this year.
Explore Norwegian craftsmanship
In collaboration with department store Steen & Strøm, we will host a pop-up that highlights the craftsmanship of Norwegian designers. This is a great opportunity to explore brands like ESP, Tarinii, Bastante Textile, Gobmi, and Cala Jade, their creativity, design, and unique use of materials.
Expanded support for new creative voices
To truly fulfill Oslo Runway’s role as Norway’s most important platform for showcasing Norwegian designers, fashion- and lifestyle brands, we are actively working to maintain long-term investment in talent through various promotional and support programs.
- By working closely with educational institutions and the industry itself, we’ve created a comprehensive support program to highlight and develop new talent through exposure, mentorship, and financial support. And this year, we’re taking our talent initiative one step further, Carlsen says.
Introducing: Talent Award by Steen & Strøm
Steen & Strøm is launching a new talent prize during ORW25. A professional jury will nominate a graduating student from each of the design schools: Esmod, Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO), and OsloMet. These three will be exhibited at Steen & Strøm, where they will be introduced to both press and the public. The winner of the talent award will be announced at the anniversary dinner at the Munch Museum.
Sorgenfri Artwear
Sorgenfri is a store and concept gallery that curates art, design, and culture. During this year’s Oslo Runway, Sorgenfri will invite independent Norwegian designers to showcase their top pieces in the group exhibition Sorgenfri Artwear. Designers will be invited to respond creatively to the question: “What is the fashion of the future?”
Meet the two selected brands for Oslo Runway NEXT 2025
The renowned Oslo Runway NEXT support program is a key part of the talent initiative. This year, the two new brands Cohmé Atelier and Wilhelmina have been selected to receive mentorship from industry experts, a one-year membership at the Norwegian Fashion Hub, and funding to host their own shows during ORW25.
Winner of the Oslo Runway Tribute Award
The Oslo Runway Tribute Award is a national honor awarded to a Norwegian designer or fashion- or lifestyle brand that has stood out in the past year. Previous winners include Livid, Tom Wood, Envelope1976, and most recently, Norwegian Rain. This year’s winner will be selected by a jury and announced at the anniversary dinner at the Munch Museum. The winner will receive a prize of NOK 50,000 from Innovation Norway.
