An exhibition where fashion meets art — bold, wearable, and made to last.

We’re excited to welcome you to SORGENFRI ARTWEAR during ORW25, to experience their annual group exhibition showcasing a visionary lineup of Norwegian designers who blur the lines between clothing and contemporary art.

Opening August 22 in partnership with Oslo Runway, and scheduled with a press event on the Official Program for August 26, the curated exhibition is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and conscious design.

Incredible talent gets lost in a highly commercial market

This year’s edition continues SORGENFRI’s mission to explore fashion as an artistic and cultural expression. Each piece is either one-of-a-kind or made-to-order — thoughtfully designed to be lived in, not just looked at.

- We believe there’s so much incredible talent that gets lost in a highly commercial market
, says Ingrid Bredholt, Creative Director of SORGENFRI.

- We want to create a space where designers are truly seen — and where fashion is approached with honesty and depth, she explains.

Louise Hessling, Head of Designers, adds:

- ARTWEAR is a statement of the SORGENFRI mindset. It’s about fashion as an art form — respecting both the person who wears it and the world we live in, she says.

Elin O. Carlsen, Oslo Runway’s CEO, is looking forward to another round of collaboration with Sorgenfri.

- We’re genuinely excited to be collaborating with Sorgenfri again this year, as our past collaborations have been a really positive experience. Their universe is a completely unique space in Oslo, and we see them as an important force in the worlds of fashion and art. It feels meaningful to connect our networks and help spotlight these artistic talents together at the Sorgenfri Artwear exhibition, says Carlsen.

The SORGENFRI space will be fully transformed for the exhibition, reflecting their core values: accessibility, sustainability, and long-lasting design. ARTWEAR invites visitors to rethink how we experience fashion — not just as products, but as cultural artifacts that hold meaning and spark dialogue.

A call for change
This collaboration between Sorgenfri and Oslo Runway marks a strengthening of support for both emerging and established designers. It’s not meant to be just an exhibition, but also a call for change in the fashion industry. A shift toward more responsibility, artistry, and relevance.

- We’re proud to partner with Oslo Runway. Together, we believe SORGENFRI ARTWEAR signals a new and important direction for Norwegian fashion — one that deserves international recognition, says Bredholt.

*Participating artists and selected pieces will be revealed on socials in the days leading up to the opening and throughout the exhibition week
